Why?

So, I have been pretty thirsty lately. I have been going to the water fountains a lot, and I casually mentioned I've been thirsty a lot and this is what the girl said back to me:

"Maybe you are turning into a fish. I've heard of that happening before."

Thinking she's joking, I laugh and kind of pass it off. She then looked at me and said:

"I'm serious. I read in the national enquirer."

...why?

Happy Birthday to Lara!

Lara's an Easter baby this year! So, here is her top 5!

5) Lara is incredibly smart. Really. I'm not joking. It's ridiculous. But I love her anyways. ;)

4) She is a beautiful singer and is amazingly talented at songwriting. She totally had the Patriot Idol Crown stolen from her. coughcoughthosegirlswereflooziescoughcough.

3) Lara loves Avatar and Zuko. 'nuff said.

2) She loves to write and is my number one go to person for fanfiction. ^_^

1) Lara is my good friend and I will be so sad when she goes away to college. I know she's excited, but it's not about what she wants, it's about what I want! Goodness! :)

Love ya Lara, and have a very happy 18th birthday!!!!

Words are paper roses

I am an author. Therefore, I love to write. I also love words.

Words are super fun. Each one is unique and leaves a certain taste on the tongue.

Here are a few fantastic words:

Estival: pertaining to summer

Pettifog: to bicker over trivial things

Agelast: one who never laughs

Bibliobibuli: one who reads too much

Frowzy: ill-smelling

Graustark: a place of high romance

Izzat: HONOR!!!!!

I hope you enjoyed those as much as I did!

Happy Tuesday!

:D

Awkward....?

So, the other day I had to come to school late and as I was walking through the office, I saw a very country boy and a very country girl standing in the corner holding hands, looking deeply into each others eyes. I also heard a snippet of their conversation:

Boy: "She doesn't like the fact that we are together, Sue! She hates us!"

Girl: "But, Billy Joe, that don't make any sense!"

Boy: "She didn't like the fact that we were engaged! She is trying to rip us apart!"

*girl starts to sob uncontrollably into guy's shoulder*

Needless to say, I felt very awkward being in the middle of this very personal conversation. Observe:

Awkward.

Bon anniversaire à mon père!

So, yesterday was my daddy's birthday! So, here are his top 5! :)

5) Dad is a modern day Renaissance man. He seriously can do anything he puts his mind to. He is an excellent painter, photographer, snorkeler, mathematician, athlete, politician, etc.

4) He is a hard worker. He always works his hardest to ensure that we are comfortable and have food on the table.

(Here he is, fishing for our dinner ^_^)

3) He rarely likes to do the same thing twice, and because of it I know the roads in Tennessee better than half the population, I have never been to Disneyland, I have seen more obscure movies from the 70s and 80s than probably anyone who was born in that era, and I have a whole collection of crazy stories.

2) My dad is an excellent story teller. Half of my memories involve being crowded around a campfire, listening to scary stories or funny things he did as a kid.

(He's the one in the plaid shirt in the middle-ish)

1) My dad loves us. He is always taking us to do different things and likes to hang out with us. I am so grateful for a loving father.

Honorable mention: My dad has an amazing sense of humor. He always has smart alec comments or a witty anecdote up his sleeve.

So, happy birthday father! I love you so much and hope that you enjoy your 25th year of life! ;)
